My approach is to move away from group-driven evaluations and focus on identifying players who offer the highest expected value, both immediately and long-term if their developmental pathways work out. I prioritize a full-scope evaluation, weighing current production while consistently cross-referencing high school film and track record to build a complete picture of the player's trajectory. There is a strong emphasis on prospects who demonstrably drive winning, impacting team success beyond the box score. But that can be balanced against players with a more complete and scalable overall skill set. In the range of picks 6-11, I'm more willing to bet on developmental upside, targeting prospects who may require time but possess higher long-term ceilings. Non-negotiable in this process are work ethic, competitiveness, and leadership. Players who fall short in those areas are removed from consideration regardless of talent level.
